About
Hi, I’m Marcus.
World Elite Photographers started as a Notion page full of camera comparisons I kept emailing to friends. After the third “can you send me that gear list again?”, I figured it should live somewhere a search engine could find it. So here we are.
What this site is
It’s a publication for working and serious-amateur photographers who care about their craft and their tools. Four things I write about, in roughly equal measure:
- Gear Reviews — Cameras, lenses, lights, drives, and bags I have actually shot with on real assignments. If I haven’t used it for a paid job or a personal project I cared about, I won’t review it.
- Tutorials & Tech — Color management, tethering, file pipelines, the things that go wrong on shoots. Plain English, screenshots where they help.
- Cybersecurity for Photographers — The unglamorous stuff: backups that actually work, account hardening, what to do when your laptop disappears in a café (ask me how I know).
- Imaging News — Sensor announcements, software releases, industry shifts I think are worth your attention. No press-release reprints.
What this site is not
It’s not an affiliate link farm. It’s not AI-generated. It’s not a place where every camera is somehow the best one I have ever used. If something is mediocre, I will say so. If a piece of gear is overpriced for what it does, I will say that too.
About me
I shoot weddings, editorial portraits, and the occasional product job out of a small studio. I have been doing this for about fifteen years. Before photography paid the bills I worked in IT support, which is where the security obsession comes from — I have seen too many photographers lose entire shoots because nobody told them what RAID is not.

Tip, correction, story idea, or a piece of gear you think I should test? Use the Contact page or email me directly at [email protected]. I read everything; I reply to most things.
Thanks for reading.
